What a spotlight actually is

We get on a call with you and record it. About twenty minutes, camera on, no script in front of either of us. We want to hear what you built and why you built it, and the parts you would tell a neighbor rather than the parts you would put in an ad.

Then that becomes two things. A written feature on Weber Local, long enough to be worth reading and specific enough that somebody finishes it knowing whether you are the right fit for them. And an episode of Business Spotlights, which goes up on YouTube.

Everything in both of them comes out of that conversation or off your own website. We do not invent detail to make a paragraph land better, and you see it before it goes live.

Why one county

A plumber in Roy does not need to be famous. He needs the people between Riverdale and Farr West to know his name when the water heater goes.

So Weber Local stays inside Weber County. Ogden, North Ogden, South Ogden, Roy, Riverdale, Pleasant View, Washington Terrace, Farr West, Plain City, Harrisville, Marriott Slaterville, Hooper, West Haven, Uintah, and up into Huntsville, Eden, and Liberty.

Staying inside one county is also what makes the audience worth anything to you. A reader here is somebody who could actually walk through your door this week.

Who runs this

I am Peter Neuenswander. I have spent 18 years in online marketing, building websites and running campaigns for businesses that were already good at what they do and largely invisible to the people who would happily pay for them.

Digital Dinks is my agency, and Weber Local runs out of it. Agency work is paid and it belongs to the client. Weber Local is the part I wanted to do without an invoice attached, because the businesses that most need somebody to tell their story are usually the ones with the least room in the budget to pay for it.

I do the interviews, I write the features, and I answer the email. If you write in, you are writing to me.

What it costs and why

Nothing. There is no listing fee, no upgrade, and no version of this where a business pays to be featured or pays to rank higher than another one.

A handful of the owners we sit down with end up hiring the agency for their marketing afterward. That is how this pays for itself, and it is the only way it does. Most do not, and their feature stays up either way. Nobody gets asked twice.

If we see a clear way to bring you more customers, we will mention it once. After that it is yours to do whatever you want with.
