Hunter Business Strategies in Eden helps small business owners across Weber County grow real profit, not just revenue, through steady and practical one on one coaching.

Welcome to Hunter Business Strategies in Eden

Up in the Ogden Valley, where the pace runs a little slower and neighbors still know each other by name, Kyle Hunter runs a practice built around one straightforward belief. Most owners pour their energy into chasing revenue, when the number that actually keeps a company healthy, and keeps a family provided for, is profit. Hunter Business Strategies exists to help small business owners see that difference clearly and do something about it. What you get from Kyle is not a binder of theory. It is a practical partner who has spent a career learning what actually moves a business, and who would rather show you a small change that works than sell you a big idea that does not.

A Different Way to Think About Growth

Kyle likes to say that revenue feeds your ego, but profits feed your family. It sounds simple, and that is the point. Plenty of businesses can post an impressive sales number and still struggle to keep the lights on, because the money never makes it to the bottom line. Kyle helps owners shift their attention from how much comes in to how much actually stays, and that one change tends to reshape how they run everything else, from pricing to hiring to the way they spend their own time. Profit, in his view, is not a cold accounting term. It is the health of the whole company, and the freedom of the person who built it.

Revenue feeds your ego, but profits feed your family.

How Kyle Works With Owners

The relationship usually starts with a no cost assessment, a chance for Kyle to understand the business before anyone talks about a plan. From there he looks across the twelve strategies he works with and finds the one that can make the biggest difference first, rather than handing over a long list and wishing the owner luck. Then it becomes a week to week rhythm. They put the roadmap in place, measure what changes, and build from there. It is steady, practical work, and Kyle is careful to keep it approachable. Opening up the books can feel intimidating for any owner, and he treats that moment with patience and no judgment. More often than not, owners tell him the process felt less like an audit and more like a good conversation with someone who wanted them to win.

It’s not as invasive as it feels. So many people get a little nervous about opening their books, and it feels intimidating, but it’s not at all.

Built on Thirty Five Years of Real Experience

Kyle spent 35 years in sales and sales management, close to the executive level for most of his career, before bringing that experience to small business owners. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in business management and a minor in marketing, and a professor there taught him something that shaped the rest of his career. Whatever the targets are, the best thing you can do for yourself is make your executives and your manager look good.

In sales, he found, that did not only mean being a rainmaker. It meant making sure the revenue he brought in actually reached the bottom line. Closing deals is easier when you spend freely to do it, but those expenses eat the result. Focusing on profit moved him up faster, and teaching his teams the same thing moved them too. About three years ago he left corporate sales to carry those principles into small business coaching, and started Hunter Business Strategies.

He picked up salesperson of the year, sales manager of the year and most valuable executive of the year along the way, none of which he hangs on a wall.

My most important certifications, or I should say pats on the back, come from my clients that I’ve been able to help.

Results Owners Can Point To

Ask Kyle what he is proud of and he talks about the businesses he has helped, not himself. He points to Tolman Construction, the largest drywall company in the valley, which had been competing mostly on price and looking, as he puts it, like a me too drywall company. Together they built what he calls a market dominating position, resting on doing the assessment properly, estimating properly, finishing to a higher standard, and following up with the homeowner or the general contractor until everyone had signed off. Last he checked the company was up thirty percent in profitability, and they are now working on sharpening the message around it.

He is quick to add that trust is what makes any of it possible, and points to Stephen M. R. Covey’s book The Speed of Trust as the thinking behind that. Owners have to know his interest is in their improvement and nothing else. That belief, built early through the assessment and the first conversations, is where the real change begins.

Who Kyle Helps

Hunter Business Strategies is built for the owner who is good at what they do but knows the business side could be tighter. The restaurant that is busy but never quite profitable. The contractor winning jobs on price and wondering why the year end never looks better. If that sounds familiar, Kyle’s approach is designed for exactly that spot, and he is happy to start with a conversation before anything else is on the table.

Rooted in the Ogden Valley

Kyle and his wife spent 25 years in Alpine, down in Utah County, and raised their family there. Then the family moved north, seven grandkids and soon to be eight, and the drive up became a few times a week. They sold the house in Alpine and followed.

It still kind of cracks us up that it’s called the Valley because we’re more in the mountains than Ogden.

Kyle Hunter

He is still fairly new to the county and still getting to know it, and so far the standing recommendation is Ogden Valley Pizza, which has a location in Ogden and another up in Eden. His work reaches owners across Weber County, from Huntsville and Liberty in the valley to Ogden, North Ogden, Pleasant View, and the towns along the bench. Wherever they are, the goal is the same. Help good local businesses keep more of what they earn and grow on their own terms.
